"Quality work"
"They are super helpful with suggestions and do great work. Be patienc because they are busy but worth it!"
"So I answered an ad on Craigslist for a fence installer welding position, and did an interview and got hired. Worked for a week and everything was going great, no complaints from anyone, until the last day I was put on a 5 man crew along with the owner's son, the foreman on this particular day and job. The job consisted of replacing about 75 feet of 6 foot tall chain link fence along an interstate highway exit ramp that somebody had wiped out after a snowstorm. The existing fence was removed and equipment unloaded. The owner's son was gung-ho, go, go, go and jumped in the skid steer with a 10 inch auger and maneuvered it into position along the line where the new fence section was to be installed and began haplessly drilling the 1st hole. Noticing it was slightly out of line with the ends of the existing fence, I suggested that he allow me to quickly run a string line from end of existing fence to the other end of the existing fence to assure the post holes would be in line. "No! Get out of the way!", he screamed as the machine jerked dangerously and wrecklessley close to where I was standing and he began to drill the rest of the 7 or 8 holes... Totally out of line with each other. It wasn't nearly as noticeable until steel pipe posts were place in the holes and concrete was began to be filled in around the post. The posts were wildly back and forth in a severe unacceptable way. I knew then this kid was just that: a spoiled bratty boss's kid that had no reason for being on the job except that he was the boss's kid. Now, the crew went to work re-digging the holes by hand to increase the size of the holes to allow the posts to be moved far enough in the direction they needed to go to be more in line. This made a 1 hour hole digging job now take 8-10 man hours. And being the holes were now twice as large, it took more concrete, thus more labor to mix, move, and pour the concrete. The owner's son realizing it was approaching noon began screaming at the crew, "We gotta get this job going!". If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a screaming hypocritical assh*le blaming other people for his own ignorance and mistakes. I had grown up working with my father whom owned a construction company and at times was a screamer also... So I learned early how to scream back, which I did, "We are getting this job going! Your the one that refused to let me put up a string line and mark the holes, then drilled them in the wrong spot! Had you let me do that, they'd had been drilled in the proper place! ". His face grew blank as he looked at me shock. The rest of the crew also looked at me in shock, then one of the shouted, "Your my boss, Jeff!". The owner's son knew it was the truth and so did the crew. We hustled to complete the job by quitting time that afternoon and did, to the dismay of the owner whom said it went over on hours, thus, not earning the company money. I kept my mouth shut. Then Sunday afternoon the owner called me and said they were letting me go, without any reason. I just accepted it and hung up. I figure that with a spineless foreman such as the owner's son not confessing up to Daddy about who's fault the extra man hours were caused by, that this definitely wasn't the type of firm I wanted to be with. I value honesty, hard work, fairness and leadership. As long as Daddy's boy blames his screw ups and errors on other people, this company will do things wrong, struggle to make money and last but most important, not be able to keep decent good employees with experience that can read plans, lay things out and complete a job. I will never accept another person's lack of intelligence as being my fault, even if my job is on the line. The funniest part is Daddy's boy never even had the balls to confront me. Brian, your kid is a spineless coward that screws jobs up then blames it on the best guys you'll ever hire. Good luck making a profit! Teach your children honesty and integrity and any time your foreman, specially your own bratty kid blames problems on another worker, allow the employee being blame to be present. Good day."
