RG Maintenance in Arvada, Colorado

"In September of 2020, a self storage business I own was partially destroyed by a wildfire in Southern Oregon. This destruction included a gate control system that burned with the office building.I called RG Maintenance in October of 2020 to provide me an estimate to install a replacement system. Our communications were very friendly and we decided to move forward with the installation once power and internet could be restored. For reference, the provided estimate included a requirement for 2 techs and 2 days of work.When power and internet were finally restored and installation was ready to move forward, a single tech arrived on on March 16, 2021. The tech, Jake, was amazing and got the job done in less time than was quoted. Jake was a pleasure to work with and I have no complaint regarding his work.A final invoice was received today, March 19, still including pricing with 2 techs and accomodations. I requested RG Maintenance review the invoice to see if an adjustment could be made, since fewer techs were needed and delivered than what the original estimate required. RG Maintenance has refused to consider adjusting the invoice to reflect the reality of the install. They were willing to change the description of the line items though. What was originally quoted as ~$3500 for two techs and two days now reflects one tech at the same price.Andy's reasoning for this unwillingness to re-evaluate is that it was a set estimate, not an estimate for time and materials. If time and materials were not a factor, why specify a number of resources for a specific amount of time on the original estimate?The work was completed in a timely manner by Jake and is, thus far, without complaint. The billing practices of Andy's company, RG Maintenance, are perhaps questionable and I feel the need to warn potential customers from the difficult lesson learned by me."
